I’ve been wrestling with trying to get FlexSlider http://flex.madebymufffin.com/ to work with Drupal 7 all today as it suits my needs perfectly and the logic of how to get it work made sense but hasn’t actually worked.

My setup:
Using a subtheme of AdaptiveTheme
Created a custom view block that outputs an unordered list of images that link to a node. I have applied the appropriate FlexSlider classes to the wrapper and list.
Declared the two js scripts in the template.php
Declared the flexslider.css in my theme.info file

I’m newish to drupal and am more a CSS kind of guy – but I think it’s a jQuery conflict/version problem…

Any ideas?

Question by Sarah: Where can I find an appropriate CHEAP hosting provider for a Drupal site?
I am working on a website for a group of friends, but the project has become a headache. I need the site to do some pretty swanky things in Drupal, running a number of modules which may require more processing power. They have a hosting service that is meant more for running old text-based telnet games, so the restrictions on it are pretty heavy for what they’re paying. I can’t even enable a module with jQuery in it without the site blowing up in what I can only assume is a memory/processing issue (there’s no cPanel or anything of the sort, so I’m not sure how to even test it). Plus, their configuration does not allow for clean URLs or use of the mail() function, among other things.

I am looking for recommendations on cheap hosting providers which can provide all of these services, with excellent customer service.

I personally used to use x10Hosting, but they’ve been cutting back on their services and recently retroactively REMOVED some of my paid services (and then pretended it was that way before I bought it and they have no idea what I’m talking about).

I’m tinkering with the layout of my (non-commercial) website, and I’ve tried to find the best way to do this, but I didn’t have that much luck.
Basically, I would like something like the banner on this site:

My website does use drupal, but we have v 6, and we’re probably not going to upgrade anytime soon, and that module is for v 7.
I’ve been trying to find out how to do this, and I found I can either download a comparable v 6 module, or create one from scratch with Javascript and jquery, and I don’t know how to do that. It doesn’t help that the many modules don’t do everything I would want, or at least I can’t tell that they do. (here’s what I’m talking about: http://drupal.org/node/418616 there are too many to sort through, and many don’t have the features I want)

The requirements I have for this banner:
Custom size
The pictures/content move on an interval
You are able to click on the picture/content and it will go to a webpage
Buttons/tabs at the bottom to switch between

So my question is: How can I do this? Is there some module or handy Javascript/jquery script that can do this (drupal v6)? Or is there another, simpler way?

(Remember, I don’t want to do anything server side, beside install a few modules if necessary, so a script would be preferable)

Any advice would be great, and thanks in advance for the help.
on second thought, custom size wouldn’t be needed if the banner could conform to the size of the picture (I can make all the pictures I want the same size)

and, I would prefer not to use flash, since I would like the banner to be visible on computers and devices without flash installed, like an iphone or school computer

you could try the advertisement module – http://drupal.org/project/ad. I use it on a few sites. One of the ad types is image based. Each image loads randomly but you can set a priority setting for each image to determine how frequent it appears on each page load. You can also add url for the user to redirected to upon clicking on the image/banner. It also provides click statistics for each ad/image.

I have a nice jquery animation built on a separate page but now, would like to incorporate it as a front page in drupal. I tried panels but the jquery doesn’t seem to kick in and it’s hard to debug anything there. So, basically, any option is OK, including a separate static page somehow inserted into the front page, really, anything. I have to get this up soon and would appreciate help.
