Hello there. I am a web developer and want to build i portfolio to show my clients. I know HTML CSS jQuery Javascript PHP
MYSQL. But what do you think what is best to create a web site from scratch or use already ready templates. And if i use a template can i call it my portfolio since i have already used others code?

well you can still use CSS to modify the template, so that it is original

I agree that you can use the CSS to modify the template, but the question is, “Why would you want to use a template?”
Most people want their web designer’s site to be more original than most templates allow for. You may want to show off what you can make sites look like, by linking to sites you have designed, that way people can see the work you have done. Use your portfolio site to show off your skills. Don’t go crazy with mystery meat navigation or anything, but don’t have a layout that looks like this page either.
Your customers may end up wanting a site that can easily be built off a template, but you should attract them with your own skills. check these out to see what I mean.

If the template is from site builder you’d better make a new one. Or make sure all the links and urls of images and pages.
